Beijing Trip: Day 5 & 6
Posted in Stories in Time on December 24, 2009 by NikosI didn’t blog in Chengde due to it’s freezing weather, despite Internet access beig available there. The weather there this morning was minus 13 degrees. A ridiculous weather to travel and explore. I’ve stopped taking pictures due to the dirt in my CMOS sensor and the weather.
I’m now back in Beijing. The weather is cold but not as terrible as it in chengde. Lol! It’s gonna be Christmas in about 40 minutes time from the time of this post. I can’t wait to return to Singapore as I have so many darnthings to do. Haha! I will log in to facebook on final time later before heading back to Singapore. I will reply smses wishes for Christmas. I will not text many people as usual as each SMS costs 50cents from Beijing to Singapore.
This will be the final Christmas most of my friends whom are guys celebrated as a civilian until the next 2 years. Army is going to tie down many things. Haha! Well, hope for the best in everything we do. (:
My fingers are already itching to play the piano. Haha! The piano lounge’s piano is freaking out of tune. Can’t wait to lay my hands on the Clavinova again!
Alright! I’m off to countdown with a few friends. See you people in Singapore!
Beijing Trip: Day 4
Posted in Stories in Time on December 22, 2009 by NikosWent to the Great Wall of China. Extremely tiring to climb it. Lol! However, it was worth it. The climb was worse than climbing to the 12th floor of a building. The temperature was so low and the attitude makes climbing even harder.
Anyway, some bad news. My camera have dust in it. So, the first day till today; pictures are ‘damaged’. Crap. I managed to do a DIY sensor cleaning. Hopefully it will be cleaner tomorrow.
Talking about tomorrow, I will be heading to Cheng De. It is more like a country side and I doubt Internet access will be available. If no access is available, I will blog only the day after tomorrow. (:
In the mean time, Christmas is around the corner. I wanna wish everyone a happy time and stay healthy for the upcoming Christmas celebrations! Take care people!
Bejing Trip: Day 3
Posted in Stories in Time on December 21, 2009 by NikosStarted off with a visit to more old buildings. Today’s temp wasn’t so bad; 4 degress. However, as night approaches, it fell below zero. Started becoming rather cold again. Thats why I took more pictures in the day as compared to the night or late afternoon. Today isn’t that exciting except for the not so cold. LOL! Tomorrow is gonna be exciting when we climb the Great Wall of China. I will be compelled to take pictures despite the cold weather. Friday predicts highest to be -7 degress and lowest -15 degress. ARGH! Heng flying to Singapore already. haha!
Alright, thats a short one for today. Morning call tomorrow at 6.30am. My sleep is being eaten up. x.x
Good nights people! (:
Beijing Trip: Day 2
Posted in Stories in Time on December 20, 2009 by NikosWoke up rather early today but had an awesome American breakfast. After that, went directly to the Forbidden city for a city tour. I did not really take much pictures as the weather is so freaking cold. During the day time at about 8a.m, the temp was about -8 degress. Now as i’m typing, it’s -11 degress. LOL!
Anyways, we went by to the Beijing Olympics stadium aka The Nest. It was so cold that we decided not to tour much. Watched a few kung fu shows too. Some of you will be really shocked by the inner energy and strength those shaolin people have. Their body can be said to be made up of steel. LOL!
I will not be elaborating much on the trip as I will keep on mentioning that it is cold. haha! Will post pictures rather soon when I am in Singapore. Oh yes, if you people think Singapore’s traffic is shit, I think China is worse. However, they can still drive better than us despite having ‘not so good’ traffic systems and regulations. Zebra crossings built there are for fun. Cars don’t stop for you even though you are crossing; they horn and SPEED UP. When it shows green man and you cross, they horn at you too; so you prolly wanna cross as if you are jaywalking. Crossing when it’s a red man is as if you are walking next to death. So yea, Singapore is still better in terms of traffic.
Well, got to turn in now. Need to be up by 7am tomorrow. Goodnights people! (: Look out for Day 3!
Beijing Trip: Day 1
Posted in Stories in Time on December 19, 2009 by NikosIt’s extremely freezing here. As I am typing in the hotel now, the temp outside is -14 degress Celcius.
Today was just a starting day to get us ‘warmed’ up to Beijing’s enviroment and temperature. It’s so cold that I have problems talking and things just freeze within minutes when exposed to outside temperature. Tomorrow is going to be a long day. Gotta prepare and wear thicker clothings to prevent frost bites and cold.
The temperature will just keep falling until January. Win liao.
Anyways, I find myself being compelled to speak chinese where ever I am now because I have no options. LOL! Damn it. Oh yes, I will not be able to update Facebook status as China BANS Facebook. WTF right?
They ban blogger, youtube, flickr, twitter, etc etc. Lame man; make me wanna quickly return to Singapore.
Oh yes, I am rather surprised to see Bejing virtually flooded with AUDIs and Volkswagens. There are so many!; more than their China national cars. haha!
Got to go now! Look out for day 2!
Goodnight world. (:
Beijing Trip: Day 0
Posted in Stories in Time on December 18, 2009 by NikosCheck in time at 10.30pm at Terminal 3.
Singapore Airlines; Flight No. SQ800. 1.15am take off to Beijing. Estimated Flight time, 6 Hours.
Surprisingly crowded at Changi Airport today. Heard from my mum that the tour is going to consist of 20 over people. ARGH. Hate it when there are so many people.
This marks the beginning of the first trip. (:
Christmas will also be celebrated in Beijing. Look out for Day 1!
Update: China blocks Facebook. WTF right? I cannot update anything from there. I will try to find a way to get it.
Northwood Music Piano Recital & Updates
Posted in Stories in Time on November 27, 2009 by NikosA few updates since the 8th of November. I am going to have an extremely packed schedule in the month of December.
This month is filled with assignments and activities. There are a couple of deadlines to meet as well as common tests coming up. I will officially be staying in the new house after Christmas. People are going to start moving stuffs to the new house on the 4th and 5th of December while feng shui says my whole family will need to stay in the house for one night on the 13th of December.
However, from the 4th to the 13th and perhaps, 14th to 18th, I will be staying in my old house, probably alone or with my Sis as I have common tests and have assignments to finish. I will need time to adapt to the new home environment and I don’t think it is going to be a good place to do assignments and study for common tests yet. I will be taking a night flight to Beijing from the 18th to the 26th of December and yes, I will officially be staying in the new house from then on. Oh yea, because of this trip, I took the H1N1 vaccination. This is the 8th injection I had this year, kinda used to it.
There will be a separate house invitation for different groups of people. Classmates, CCA, Gayshuts (Sec sch friends) and last but not least, all other friends. lol. It will all be held in January. Probably Saturday evenings for all. A few lucky people have already been inside the house so far. It’s gonna take some adjustments to adjust my life to the east. Fortunetely, my family is not selling the Jurong house and it will be 2 rooms will be rented out to help us earn extra income and so that we can come back and stay when we miss Jurong. LOL!!!
Anyways, I am going to have a piano performance on the 29th of November 2009. The performance is by the school named Northwood Music. I will officially be an external coach for Northwood teaching piano improvisation as well as the webmaster for Northwood’s website and upcoming blog in 2010. Dream come true man!. hahah! Please visit the website @ www.northwoodmusic.net for more details on the courses provided! Spread the word!

For now, all the best to those who are bombarded with assignments, including me till common tests are over. Do your best and strive for your goals. (: My next post will probably be the night before I leave for Beijing.
I will be posting from my phone every night; live from Beijing provided I have internet access as Wi-Fi is prohibited in China. I’ve changed from my beloved Nokia E90 Communicator to the HTC Hero and I will be posting from it. I’m still keeping the E90 though, it’s a gem!
HTC Hero boot screen!
In Beijing, I will try my best not to travel in any Chery, Geely, Hafei, Chana, Dongfeng or any China made cars. I doubt my family travel will travel in this cars too as this cars are made of toilet paper.
All right, going off to continue on Assignments. Take care people. (:
